Wh – words are the words that help us making questions. We can make the questions using wh – words and Helping Verbs. When an answer is in yes/no form the question will start with helping verb. If the answer is not in yes or no form the question will start with Wh words.
What do wh – words ask us :
What : Asks about something, or any information about something
When : Asks about time
Where : Asks about place
Why : Asks the reason
Who : Asks about person or name of the person
Whose : Asks about the possession, relationship
Whom : Asks about person
How: Asks about the manner of doing something
How much : Asks the quantity (Uncountable noun)
How many : Asks the number (Countable noun)
We use Wh words for making questions. Questions end with a question mark (?). We have for making questions; one, starting questions from wh word. Starting with helping verb or auxiliary verbs.
